After field trips to Sham Shui Po, I felt that a more positive input to this Kowloon old district is necessary, and so I proposed “Project Rainbow Connection” for the jobless people there. The programme aims to encourage those desperate citizens to be self-employed and to act as a cultural tour guide for tourists.
I designed the “Rainbow Rick-cycle” which is a vehicle for two passengers. The Sham Shui Po tour guide is a regional representative for the Hong Kong Tourist Board and will bring the passengers to specific spots in this area. Tourists can take photos, sight-see as well as shop along the designated routes.
