Hoi Chiu

A native of Hong Kong, Hoi Chiu is a skilful puppeteer, actor, director, set, costume and props designer and illustrator. Based in Hong Kong, Hoi Chiu and his wife Maggie Blue O’Hara founded the “All Theatre Art Association” in 2004 creating, performing, producing shows and one-of-a-kind exclusive events locally and internationally. He also founded the Hoi Chiu Art Gallery in 2008 at the JCCAC in Shek Kip Mei where he creates props and puppets for ATAA productions, producing pieces on consignment, and offers workshops in mask and puppet making. In addition, he has also founded the Hong Kong Puppet Centre. He has performed in many events and productions and was the director of “The Five Elements”, an award-winning musical magic show in 2004. Recently, Hoi Chiu also performs sand-painting which is gaining popularity.

Moon Goddess in Sand
The artwork is a gift to my wife who has just given birth. My wife is from the moon while I am the ocean and her reflection forms pearls which transforms into our daughter.
