Just from the name, one can tell that the shop sells some products which are made in China.
Dai Sang Hong was founded in 1963 by old Mr. Chan, and was a designated distributor for China-made clothing products, including the name brands “Chrysanthemum”, “Coral”, etc. and it supplies these products to Chinese goods emporia including the famous Chung Kiu, Yue Hwa, New Chung Kiu, and so on, they all sourced from Dai Sang Hong. The small place is filled with over a hundred kinds of goods, mostly inexpensive China-made items – underwear T-shirts, briefs, singlets, towels, cotton blankets, wool blankets, etc., with the their bestsellers being underwear. Here the prices are real bargains, for children’s cotton and wool underwear, the same items sold in shopping malls would cost much more.
Miss Yung joined Dai Sang Hong since 1973. When the boss old Mr. Chan passed away, she took up the shop’s management. Dai Sang Hong stays on firmly with its creditable shop name, and being loyal to traditions on how trading is done. They insist on specialising in wholesale. The shop has maintained its old looks, and the HING’S and SPANNER’S underwear on display are Hong Kong’s own popular brands decades ago, not easily found in shops nowadays. From Tseung Kwan O to Sheung Shui, shops are selling goods sourced from Dai Sang Hong, giving customers fitting comfort in cold or hot weathers.
