“Every Hakka village has a mentor imparting martial arts to the villagers. Learning and practicing the skills not only strengthen our body, but it also gives us the ability to defend our families. The Hakka people love Qi-lin dancing and in the past, every Hakka village would have their own Qi-lin team. During festivals and celebrations, Qi-lin teams from other villages would also be invited for joint performance.
